Ep. 021 - JM Butler

JM Butler is a junior at Auburn University and currently sits at #28 in the Scratch Players World Amateur Ranking. JM has won multiple times in college and holds the school scoring record for 54 holes at -18. Other titles that JM holds include the KSHAA State Championship and the Kentucky State Amateur.

JM loves tournament golf and gets the feeling of excitement and nerves before every tournament. In order to ensure that it doesn’t affect his performance, he does a meditation before every round. If he gets out on the course and starts thinking too far ahead or too far in the past, he just looks down at his feet and reminds himself that in the present he is standing here, and that helps him stay in the present.

JM believes that a lot of his success in golf can be attributed to his discipline. Balancing school, golf, and friends can be difficult. JM credits the organization and structure that Auburn has provided for helping him manage all of those and perform well on the course.
