Billy Tom Sargent is a professional golfer who played college golf at Western Kentucky University. During his time there, he won five events individually and earning the first All-America honor in program history with his Honorable Mention recognition in 2019. He also made it to the NCAA Championships as an individual, where he finished T-11th. After graduating, Billy Tom went through Q-School, and got status by making it to Final Stage. He has had status on the Korn Ferry Tour since then, making it to Final Stage in all three attempts.
Having made it through 2nd Stage in all three attempts, we asked Billy Tom what allowed him to mentally handle it. For him, it was as simple as not focusing on the results. Every player is feeling pressure when they go out there; he tries to absorb that pressure and go out and just have fun.
Despite trying to have fun, sometimes golf can be hard. Billy Tom talked about how a bad attitude can be toxic and follow you on and off the course. Whenever he gets down, he thinks about 3 things that he is grateful for, which he said are usually his parents, his fiancée, and his family.
